That was the original house of which you speak. Surely you folks must remember then, that Tilly was Pa's best friend right up until that day, seems like jest yesterday, that Pa's pipe lighting straw got a little too hot and fiery.
Thornton had a bit of the fire bug in him himself. Though, one never has a bit of a fire bug within. Thornton loved playing around with matches. I feel for Thornton's poor horse.

This looks like Smitty's house.
I'm remembering Smittys' house had a chimney.
Smitty's house had a pot-bellied stove with a metal chimney pipe poking out the side of the kitchen.
His father used to light his pipe by touching a piece of straw to the pipe.
It was the only thing that made Tilly, the basset hound, ever move from that stove.
Smitty?

Dear Everyone:
This is a barn and not a house.
if I remember right, did they lose a piece of the barn too?
In them days it took a pumper and two bucket brigades to really do much good.
I remember Thornton's horse not takin' is so good. In a way it was good that Thornton never saw this. Ya know, bein' so sensitive 'n all.
Weeve Hillmund was a half-breed who lived with the goats. Don't believe what he writes.
Cher was a half-breed too.
That's all she ever heard.
How she learned to hate that word!
