I once had a Chevy pickup and I used to ride my bluetick hound in the back just like this. His name was Dusty. I really loved Dusty and this picture kind of makes me sad. I guess you could say Dusty was waiting too. Ol' Dusty was waiting for me to hit that grade crossing a little too fast and Dusty's try at staying put in the shortbed was a little too slow. The only thing that wasn't slow that night was the 7:48 out of Shuyler. Clipped Dusty good. Nothing left but a flattened-out collar and a memory of the best rabbit dog I ever did own. Dusty, yeah Dusty.
